Dr. Valery Varanetsky serves as Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus. He has a PhD in economics, and has previously served as Foreign Policy Advisor to the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus; Adviser to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Kingdom of Belgium; Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Slovak Republic; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Austria with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Croatia; Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the International Organizations in Vienna; Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the OSCE.
