We seem to be only at the beginning of the global crisis caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus. Longer-term impact of COVID-19 on international relations is hard to predict at this point, yet the pandemic has already disrupted, in an unprecedented way, the lives of billions of people and the functioning of most countries.

As global uncertainty is mounting the event will focus on COVID-19’s immediate implications for security in Eastern Europe. Is it emerging as a game-changer for the region? Will the pressures of the pandemic alter the security rationale of East European states? What implications will these developments have for defence alliances? Will there be more room for cooperation? What dimensions of security will need to be prioritised by national governments, civil society, and international organisations?

Please join us for this online panel, which will be live-streamed at the Minsk Dialogue’s YouTube channel. To ask a question before or during the event, please use the YouTube chat, which will be available during the event or tweet us at @minskdialogue.
